About

Everyone sells a 10 by 10. Almost nobody tells you what the frame is.

Customized Canopy Tents makes pop-up canopies to order — complete printed canopies, heavy-duty folding frames, replacement roofs, printed sidewalls, weight plates and full market and trade show packages.

Custom printed canopy tents with logo

Two pop-up canopies with the same footprint can differ by half their weight, and the entire difference is in the frame.

Leg profile — round, hexagonal or octagonal. The wall thickness of the aluminium extrusion. How many truss bars run along each side. Those three numbers account for nearly all of the price gap between a canopy that lasts a season and one that lasts five, and none of them appear in the words “ten by ten”.

So we quote them. A thin round-leg frame with two truss bars a side is genuinely the right buy for a club that puts a canopy up eight times a year, and genuinely the wrong one for a market trader doing three hundred set-ups. Being told which is which is the point.

Why we exist

Canopies get sold on footprint and a photograph of the printed roof, from suppliers who will not put a wall thickness on a quote.

So a market trader buys a club frame and the corner castings crack by the spring. A beautifully printed canopy arrives on a trade show floor with a stake kit and no weights. And a roof gets folded away wet in October and comes out of the bag in April smelling of mildew with the coating flaking off the underside.

Quote the frame, not the footprint

Leg profile, extrusion wall thickness, truss bars per side, and the corner castings — which is where a failing frame actually breaks, long before a leg bends.

We put all four on the quote and hold spares for the frames we sell, so a cracked casting is a part rather than a new canopy.

On tarmac you cannot stake

Market squares, car parks, exhibition floors, playgrounds, forecourts. Almost every surface a pop-up canopy actually stands on is one a stake will not go into.

Ballast is the anchor, and the weight per leg is a number we quote rather than a suggestion — and it goes up as soon as you add sidewalls, because a walled canopy stops letting air through and starts behaving like a solid panel.

It fails in the bag, not on the pitch

Canopy roofs rarely fail in use. They fail packed away damp at the end of a wet market day and left rolled for a fortnight, where the coating on the underside breaks down and the fabric mildews.

It is the single most common reason a two-year-old canopy looks ten years old, and it is entirely preventable. We print the drying instruction on the bag itself rather than in a manual that goes in the bin with the packaging.

Why everything is sublimated

A canopy roof lives in direct sun and is folded along exactly the same lines every time it is packed away.

A surface print cracks along those folds and fades in the sun. Dye sublimation puts the colour into the fibre, so there is nothing on the surface to crack and nothing to fade off. On this product it is not a preference, it is the only sensible method.

How we price

No dollar figures on this site. Price moves with frame gauge, roof size, walls, ballast and quantity, and it falls steeply at the volumes a market operator or a hire fleet needs. Send the details and a real quote comes back the same day, with a lowest-price guarantee if you are already holding a cheaper one.

What we will talk you out of

A commercial frame for eight set-ups a year. A canopy without ballast on tarmac. Walls without the extra weight to go with them. And a generic replacement top for a frame we have not measured.

Every one of those costs us money to say and saves you more.
